Microsoft has acquired Xamarin

A partnership with a leading platform developer

On the 24th February, Microsoft announced signing an agreement to acquire Xamarin. Xamarin is a leading platform developer for mobile app development.

Developers using Xamarin can deliver full native mobile app experiences to all major devices (including iOS, Android and Windows) as well as share common code across them.

With more than 15,000 customers in 120 countries, Xamarin has working with an impressive list of enterprises including: Alaska Airlines, Coca-Cola Bottling, Thermo Fisher, Honeywell, JetBlue, SuperGiant Games and GummyDrop.

The acquisition of Xamarin has been born out of a long-standing partnership with Microsoft; Xamarin integration has already been built into Visual Studio, Microsoft Azure, Office 365 and the Enterprise Mobility Suite.

Further information will be available at the Microsoft Build Conference. You can also find out more about the acquisition on theĀ Official Microsoft Blog.
